Traffick JAM is a one-day, free event to create awareness and educate 7th-12th graders in SE Wisconsin on the dangers of human trafficking in a fun environment.
The event is presented by Fight to End Exploitation and Journey Hope (both recognized leaders in fighting human trafficking) and will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 9 am to 4:30 pm at DoubleTree by Hilton in Pleasant Prairie. Statistics show that education is the number one way to prevent human trafficking.
The luring, grooming and exploitation of America’s youth is frightening and appalling, with 100,000-300,000 American children at risk for sexual exploitation every year in rural and urban areas alike. Sessions held will include topics such as healthy relationships, self-defense, self-worth and communication skills.
The event will also feature a keynote by a survivor, food, prizes and activities.
The day ends with a concert by nationally known Hip Hop recording artist, Curvine. His Death to Chains is a cutting edge, theatrical production, created to combat human trafficking. This creative, live experience incorporates various art forms, including beautiful cinematography, spoken word, and hip-hop music.
Sessions led by local and national experts:
