It has felt like my first full year as Executive Director has flown by. I have spent the last twelve months digesting our organization’s history along with learning our operations and reframing our advocacy services. For those of you who have been around for a while, you know that we are very active in our intervention work through the training of multidisciplinary professionals who work with those impacted by human trafficking in their respective fields. The urgency to provide advocacy to victims and survivors of human trafficking is needed now, more than ever. We’ve seen an increase in self-reporting as an organization while the National Human Trafficking Hotline reports the same trend. While that work will continue, the pandemic has taught us some important lessons such as transitioning our awareness efforts to be compatible in-person and virtually.
As reflective as we are, we are also ready to pursue 2022. Our work is not done, in fact, we are just getting started.
Let’s Start Here
Our team is so excited to announce our newly launched website that has been designed with you in mind. We know that education is the number one combatant in the fight to end exploitation and we’ve created our website to do just that. We hope that you check it out and if you’re going to start anywhere, head to our blog for a sample of what’s to come through our online Learning Library that will be going live in February 2022. Whether you’re a parent, professional, or community member this website serves you on your journey to educate yourself about human trafficking.
With all honesty, it is your personal involvement and financial investments that have helped us get this far as an organization. This holiday season, we want to give you the opportunity to help us launch our new theme – IN PURSUIT OF POSSIBILITIES – that Fight to End Exploitation is going to be anchored to throughout 2022.
My first ask in our pursuit of possibilities is to trust me to engage with our new website and stay tuned for the release of our online Learning Library in February 2022. My second ask is if you believe in this pursuit, there’s a practical way to get behind this theme and that’s through your financial support.
2022 is going to be a year of us presenting possibilities including our first annual Foundations Fundraiser on March 8, 2022. Together, we will be raising funds for our restorative programming for victims and survivors of human trafficking. You are also going to see more of me through webinars and on our blog sharing insights about human trafficking. Thank you for supporting the work Fight to End Exploitation has done since 2015. I’m looking forward to what’s yet to come.
